Youth Conferences

The United Nations has declared August 2010 - August 2011, the International Year of Youth, and in conjunction with this theme, there will be two conferences of major interest: the Mexican World Conference on Youth in August 2010 and the High-Level Meeting on Youth, that will take place in from July 25-26, 2011.

While conferences like these can be useful in promoting meaningful dialogue, unfortunately many of these summits fail to address the actual concerns of a large portion of the youth voice.  Historically, they turn into forums imposing a Western liberal agenda on the rest of the world.  Below are articles related to the aforementioned youth conferences, as well as other youth summits organized by both international organizations and by youth themselves.

The Coalition also submitted the signatures and the Statement as an official submission to the High-Level Meeting.  This means that the delegates from countries around the world will read the Coalition's Statement, and consider it while drafting the document for the High Level Meeting.
